It feels great being able to say ‘I was involved in creating that.’
Why did you choose the property industry?
“I’m interested in architecture and community development, so it’s an exciting industry for me. I like being able to walk around a district and know that I have contributed. It’s a great feeling being able to point to a building and say ‘I was involved in creating that’.”
What does your position involve?
“My office is in Fabege’s Business Development Department and my work involves taking part in zoning plans with a view to creating new development rights and developing our properties. I am also involved in property transactions and I analyse properties to invest in. Our portfolio strategy entails strengthening our presence in our three prioritised submarkets, Stockholm inner city, Hammarby Sjöstad and Solna.”
It’s like playing Monopoly in real life.
“Ha-ha. That’s quite true actually. You could say that we already have Oxford Street and Regent Street. But, it would be great having a few more property blocks...”
What is the most enjoyable part of your job?
“Working with so many different types of projects. From planning an individual building to large and complex construction projects that take many years. Urban development frequently entails long processes and it takes a while before results are seen. It could then be worthwhile mixing this with smaller projects so the results come a bit quicker.”
What makes Fabege unique?
“The fact that we are so local. We’re one of Sweden’s leading property companies and have chosen to concentrate our property portfolio. This increases our market knowledge and makes us more personal in our contacts with customers but also internally within the company. The atmosphere is very familiar and relaxed; it feels like we all know each other.”
