Arenastaden - a living neighbourhood

Within just a few years, perhaps the most fascinating city district in Sweden will be completed – Arenastaden.

Arenastaden is situated a stone’s throw from Solna Station and offers a unique blend of several constituent parts that when combined form an equally unique totality. In fact, you would have to travel far from Sweden’s borders to find anything comparable to Arenastaden. La Défense in Paris is a good comparison, as is Wembley City in London. It is really no exaggeration to say that the city district we are now creating on what previously was an underused industrial site in Solna will attract attention throughout all of Northern Europe.

Ultramodern office solutions are being built in the area as well as housing and Friends Arena, Sweden’s new national football area and a place for many other unique events. A large new shopping centre, the Mall of Scandinavia and one of the tallest hotels in the Stockholm region are under construction in Arenastaden.

Excellent communications

The borough’s geographic location is exceptionally good from a transportation standpoint. Here you will have access to Solna station for commuter trains, the future light rail line, several bus lines and the area is close to the E4 and E18 motorways. Arlanda and Bromma airports are also easily accessible. When the commuter train has its own track under Stockholm in 2017, service will become more frequent and faster.

The City Line’s two new stations in Stockholm City, T-Centralen and Odenplan, will create shorter travel times and easier transfers because commuter trains and underground management will be integrated into the traffic system. 1 million people live less than 30 minutes travel time from Arenastaden. Arenastaden will be a great place to work for those wishing to cycle to their jobs. There are plenty of cycle lanes in all directions, so no matter where one lives; they will find a suitable bike path.

Friends Arena

Friends Arena will play host to the Swedish national football team, famous artists and unique shows, all year round. World celebrities from the worlds of sport and music will travel here to compete for medals and the hearts of the audience. When the arena is completed in 2012, Solna and the Stockholm region will be able to pride themselves on Scandinavia’s largest and most modern, multifunctional arena. For sports, the capacity will be 52,500, and for concerts up to 65,000. Quality Hotel Arena

Quality Hotel arena will be sited next to Friends Arena in the new city districts. The hotel will offer 399 double rooms, 17 meeting rooms, Skybar and conference hall accommodating for 1,800 guests and a Spa & Relaxation Centre in the top floor. Quality Hotel Arena opens in autumn 2013.

Mall of Scandinavia

The Mall of Scandinavia will be built by Unibail-Rodamco. It will contain about 230 stores, restaurants and other facilities, and approximately 4,000 parking places. In addition, housing units and offices will be built on the roof of the Mall. Offices
