There are several reasons for the district’s highly distinctive image but it mainly derives from a unique mix of attractive components that, when combined, form an equally unique entity.
A district for tomorrow
The features that are to be merged to form Arenastaden are extraordinary. For example, Sweden’s new national football arena, a massive shopping mall with space for 230 shops, more than 450,000 sqm of office space, a 90-metre tall hotel designed by Gert Wingårdh and about 2,000 residences. In fact, you would have to travel far beyond Sweden’s borders to find anything comparable. La Défense in Paris is a good comparison, as is Wembley City in London. Claiming that the district that we are currently creating in a formerly rarely used industrial site in Solna will make waves throughout Northern Europe is no exaggeration.
