Fabege publishes an updated green framework for financing

Fabege's sustainability work has been well-integrated into our business model and overall strategy for a long time. Our sustainability targets are based on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), among which we have identified the most material issues relating to our business activities and their impact on the environment and society. In addition to properties and city districts, our ambitious targets also cover employees, customers and suppliers. In this context, sustainable financing is also an important policy tool.

Our updated green framework has been designed to give Fabege broad opportunities for green financing and is based on properties certified by third parties and ambitious energy consumption targets. It is based on the green bond principles and green loan principles, adapted to the EU Taxonomy and linked to Fabege’s ambition to contribute to the goals of Agenda2030. S&P has issued a second opinion with a medium green rating regarding the green terms and conditions.

Fabege’s target is for 100 percent of its financing to be classified as being green. The green framework is primarily aimed at the capital market, but can also be linked to other sources of financing, thereby providing Fabege with a broad platform for green financing.

The framework describes Fabege's sustainability strategy and overall targets. The framework establishes terms and conditions for the classification of green properties. The framework also stipulates the terms and conditions relating to the management of funding and also regarding monitoring and reporting back to lenders and investors. Reports are sent each quarter as well as in a more comprehensive form annually.

SEB has assisted Fabege in the work on the updated green framework.

-Sustainable financing is an important part of Fabege's sustainability efforts and our target is for all our financing to be sustainable. On the basis of the green framework that has now been updated, we will continue along that path, comments Niclas Sylvén, Head of Finance at Fabege.
