High points in health when Fabege certifies the head office in Arenastaden

Almost three years ago, Fabege was the first in Europe to Fitwel-certify SEB's head office. Three stars and thus the highest rating! The head office in Arenastaden has also been awarded the prestigious certification.

Fitwel is an American certification system with a focus on health where certification is achieved via a point system. Healthy properties and workplaces are a sign of the times. Healthy food, access to exercise, proximity to local transport, green areas, good air and lighting are just some of the criteria for achieving points. The SEB office ended up at the highest possible level in 2020 and is therefore the first property in Europe to be certified with three stars. Now Fabege's head office in Arenastaden has also received that health certification.

- The commitment to health has long been a clear and strong part of our internal sustainability work where we want to protect the health and well-being of employees throughout the working day, says Mia Häggström, Head of Sustainability at Fabege.

A re-certification of SEB's offices is now underway, as it must be updated every three years. The certification has been carried out with the help of the analysis and consulting company WSP and Fabege's sustainability coordinator Sönke Leve.

-  One of the big challenges in the certification work with Fitwel is to involve and engage both property owners and tenants to work towards the same goal. The work towards increased health and well-being does not end with obtaining a certification, but needs to be a continuous process and something that you actively work on daily, says Malin Fröberg Environmental and Sustainability Consultant at WSP.

Currently, there are four buildings in Stockholm that have received Fitwel certification, of which Fabege owns two of them.
