Since the 1990s, Kultopia has been located in Storängen, behind Huddinge Centre. As the area is being redeveloped into housing, the municipal culture and leisure committee has decided to relocate the operation. The new address will be the Regulator area – an emerging creative cluster where Kultopia will have neighbours such as the Royal Swedish Opera and Royal Dramatic Theatre workshops, Billmans Restaurant, and Juice Studios. The area also hosts the Flemingsberg Block Party. The move marks an important step in the development of Flemingsberg as a regional urban centre, strengthening its role as a hub for education, research and creativity.
“Kultopia provides young people with a creative meeting place. The move to Flemingsberg offers new opportunities for the organisation to grow and reach even more young people, while reinforcing Flemingsberg as a place where creativity is encouraged to flourish,” says Sara Heelge Vikmång, Chair of the Municipal Executive Board in Huddinge.
“We are delighted to welcome Kultopia to the Regulator area. Their activities will be an important addition to the creative district we are developing in Flemingsberg,” says Stefan Dahlbo, CEO of Fabege.
“Kultopia’s relocation to Flemingsbergsdalen represents another key step in establishing Flemingsberg as a regional hub. It supports our vision of an area where education, culture and creativity interact,” says Camilla Broo, Chief Executive Officer of Huddinge Municipality.
Kultopia offers free music and art activities for young people aged 13 to 25. The organisation has grown significantly – in 2024 Kultopia had over 8,600 visitors and 37 bands rehearsing in its facilities. The new premises will provide improved spaces tailored to the activities and new opportunities for collaboration with local cultural and educational actors.
