Wenner-Gren Center – an iconic landmark evolves into a full-service building

The iconic landmark at Sveaplan is now being developed both internally and externally. When Wenner-Gren Center reopens in 2027, new and existing tenants will be welcomed into upgraded office environments, new shared spaces, and a consolidated service offering – refined with care and respect for the building’s architectural and cultural-historical values.

A central element of the development of Wenner-Gren Center is the new service offering, brought together under one roof. Here, where Sveavägen meets Brunnsviken, a vibrant and welcoming lobby is being created with a staffed reception and a wide range of services designed to simplify the workday and strengthen the sense of community within the building. The reception will offer services related to office operations and meetings, such as assistance with conference bookings and purchasing. Adjacent to the reception, there will also be a coffee bar serving coffee, pastries, and light meals.

In addition, the property is being developed with several new and upgraded amenities:

  • Wenner-Gren Dining Room, for lunches and business meetings, with the option to reserve the restaurant for evening events
  • Modern gym, equipped for cardio and strength training, free weights, and a yoga area. Personal training will be available to tenants
  • Bicycle facilities with changing rooms, showers, and drying cabinets
  • Conference facilities with meeting rooms of various sizes and an auditorium for approximately 180 people
  • Banquet floor at the top of the building with panoramic views of Stockholm, now in an updated design

Fully equipped gym with changing rooms for everyone working in the building.

Auditorium with conference facilities for up to 180 people.

“At Wenner-Gren Center, we want it to be easy for our tenants to meet, work with focus, exercise, and welcome guests – all within the same building. Every service one might need will be available on-site,” says Karl Henrik Lenneryd, Head of Leasing for Wenner-Gren Center at Fabege.

Fabege has entered into an agreement with Carotte Group as its partner for the operation of food and service functions within the property.

“Since my very first day at Carotte more than a decade ago, Wenner-Gren Center has been a property we have had a clear ambition to work with. It is a unique location, and we look forward to delivering world-class meeting experiences together with our partners at Fabege,” says Christian Mertzig, Head Owner of  Carotte.

Flexible office solutions for different needs

At Wenner-Gren Center, we will offer flexible office solutions – from half floors of approximately 200 square metres, suitable for up to 20 workstations, to full floors of approximately 400 square metres, suitable for up to 40 workstations. It is also possible to lease multiple floors.

“We also offer NOW – move-in-ready offices with a fixed monthly cost and flexible lease terms. The offices are fully furnished and include services such as cleaning, coffee, Wi-Fi, and fully equipped meeting rooms,” Karl Henrik Lenneryd continues.

A landmark with new perspectives

Height is an integral part of Wenner-Gren Center’s identity. With its 24 storeys and a height of 74 metres, the building offers sweeping views over central Stockholm, Brunnsviken, and the northern parts of the city – a perspective few other office buildings can provide.

The property is blue-listed by the City of Stockholm, the highest level of cultural-historical protection. This means that the renovation places particularly high demands on care and consideration, preserving the building’s character and architecture while integrating modern solutions for working life, service, and sustainability.

“In a blue-listed building, every decision must be carefully considered. Our ambition is to preserve the character of the building while carrying out the necessary upgrades both internally and externally,” says Sara Hansdotter, Project Manager for Wenner-Gren Center at Fabege.

In early 2027, we will welcome new and existing tenants back to an iconic building in a new and updated version. As early as March 2026, a show floor will be completed and fully furnished for visits. Register your interest and read more at fabege.se/wgc.
