Techarena

When Techarena Group established its office with Fabege in Arenastaden, it opened the door to a work environment that reflects the company’s international and energetic operations. Here, the team has room to grow – with several fast-growing companies as neighbours.

In the film, founder and CEO Omid Ekhlasi shares why coworking became the obvious foundation for building an international platform for entrepreneurship, innovation, and investment.

From startup competition to global tech arena

Techarena began in 2014 as a competition for startups and scaleups and has since grown into an international platform connecting entrepreneurs, investors, and decision-makers from more than 120 countries. Today, Techarena organises two annual events attracting over 18,000 visitors in total, runs accelerator programmes, and works to strengthen Sweden’s position as a leading innovation nation.

The physical office – essential for innovation

For Techarena, the physical office is more than just a workplace. It is a hub for developing new ideas, making decisions, and building community.

- To run a platform like this, one that is fairly complex, it’s important to be on site and meet every day, says Omid.

CoW Arenastaden – flexible, international, and social

At CoW, Techarena is welcomed by a modern, fresh, and inviting environment where ergonomic workstations, generous shared spaces, and bookable meeting rooms create a smooth and efficient workday.

– It’s newly built, it’s fresh, and we have plenty of space. And what’s fun about coworking is all the people around us. We have an international team, and there are international companies here as well as people from different countries, which is really enjoyable for us, says Omid.

A perfect location: Arenastaden

In just a couple of decades, Arenastaden has transformed from scrap yards and depots into one of Sweden’s most visited destinations – with over 15 million visitors each year. It is home to Strawberry Arena, Westfield Mall of Scandinavia, and several of Sweden’s largest companies. For Techarena, it’s the proximity to the arena, the wide range of restaurants, and the surrounding green spaces that make Arenastaden the perfect place for their operations.

– We have a running club on Tuesdays and Thursdays and lots of other activities, so I think it’s a great area where we discover new things to do every day, says Omid.
