Fabege welcomes Saint Birgitta’s Folkhögskola and Caritas to Älvsjö

In January 2025, the Saint Birgitta’s Folkhögskola school and the help and aid organisation Caritas will move to the Kabelverket 2 property in Älvsjöstaden. The agreement has a duration of 15 years.

Älvsjö is an important hub in southern Stockholm with housing, good services and good public transport links via commuter trains and buses, as well as the metro's yellow line, which is scheduled for completion in 10 years, and the planned Spårväg Syd tram line.

"We have great belief in the further development of Älvsjö and the new tenants do important work that will make a positive contribution to the vibrancy and dynamism of the area. We are very pleased to welcome Saint Birgitta’s Folkhögskola and Caritas," says Johan Zachrisson, Business Development Manager at Fabege.

Fabege acquired Kabelverket 2 in 2022; the property was originally built for Ericsson in the late 1990s. The total area of the property is 22,000 sqm and this letting of 2,600 sqm means the property will have an occupancy rate of 92%. An important feature of the area is the green-classified Klockhuset building at the corner of Götalandsvägen/Älvsjövägen from 1920, which previously belonged to LM Ericsson's cable works.

“We look forward to gathering several of our organisation’s activities together under one roof in Älvsjö. With Fabege, we have found good premises adapted to our needs in an area that is developing and growing,” says Hanna Wirström of the Catholic Diocese of Stockholm.

Saint Birgitta’s Folkhögskola and the help and aid organisation Caritas are part of the Catholic Diocese of Stockholm. Saint Birgitta’s Folkhögskola offers, for example, university-preparation courses for nursing education.

Croisette had the letting assignment from Fabege.
