Trikåfabriken 8 is a building with a highly industrial character, incorporating a large inner courtyard with great potential. In the newly constructed parts of the building, we will use timber in all load-bearing structures, which will help to reduce the environmental impact.

The building will acquire 2 new floors facing Heliosgatan and a brand new 8-storey courtyard building. Extensions and additions will be built on a timber structure.
The original part of the building was constructed in 1931 by AB Stille Werner to serve as a factory for surgical instruments designed by Erik Hahn. Even before it was completed, the property was bought by Elektriska AB Helios as a factory for the production of electric cookers and other household appliances.
As a rule, redevelopment produces a carbon footprint that is 70 per cent lower than new construction. In the new Trikåfabriken 8, we will retain much of the original construction and about 40 of the area will be rebuilt space. This represents a carbon dioxide saving of about 28 per cent compared to new construction, in terms of the entire building.
