In its annual survey, GRESB – whose mission is to enhance and protect shareholder value by evaluating and improving sustainability practices in the global real estate sector – has ranked Fabege as the leader in the office sector for listed property companies in Europe.
Fabege participated in the survey for the first time in 2014, when it was also recognised as the leader in its peer group and achieved a “Green Star” rating. In Europe, 378 companies participated in this year’s survey, classified into nine categories (of which “office” was one). In the overall comparison, Fabege was ranked number four with a score of 89 points out of a possible 100.
“We have focused on sustainability for more than ten years and I am pleased to see how high these issues have risen up the agenda. Our customers are setting tougher requirements, thereby continuously motivating us to take the next step,” says Christian Hermelin, CEO of Fabege.
The GRESB report is based on a survey of a total of 707 companies and real estate funds representing 61,000 real estate assets with a value of USD 2,300bn. The full report can be read at www.gresb.com.
