Fabege and CGI, a global provider of IT and business process services, have signed lease agreements for two new offices. One is in Solna Business Park and has about 4,200 sqm of floorspace, and the other is in the Glädjen area of Västra Kungsholmen and has about 1,300 sqm of floorspace. The lease agreements are for seven years and handover is scheduled to take place in March 2023 in Kungsholmen and in October 2023 in Solna Business Park.
Mainly CGI employees in Kista will move to the office in Solna Business Park. Many of the company’s customers are already located in Solna Business Park and the surrounding area, and CGI and Fabege will tailor the premises to meet the former’s exacting requirements regarding, for example, security and flexibility. Mainly employees from Vasagatan, in the city centre, will move to the address Franzéngatan 6 on the popular Hornsbergs strand on Kungsholmen. The offices are in easy cycling distance of each other, less than four kilometres apart, and are also located on the same metro line.
“We needed new premises that could evolve together with our growing business. At the same time, we were looking for a flexible solution that would allow our employees to work and have meetings in different locations around Stockholm. And we certainly get that with Fabege’s solution,” says Leif Alama, Senior Vice President at CGI in Sweden.
Solna Business Park has an excellent location between two popular and expansive municipalities – Solna and Sundbyberg. The area has undergone extensive development in recent years, including having more frequent and more varied local traffic, and art exhibitions via Street Gallery. It has also become one of the areas with the most solar panels in Sweden. This development work is now being stepped up even further, to add even more services, housing, and green spaces, as well as better pedestrian routes and parks.
“We have worked hard and in a targeted way with CGI to design the optimal solution for its needs, and the result is two offices rather than one. It has been an exciting and very enjoyable assignment that has now resulted in us adding another strong brand to our areas,” says Andreas Malmsäter, Letting Manager at Fabege.
Västra Kungsholmen is an area that is continuing to develop at a rapid pace and is one of the last major area of expansion in central Stockholm. Its location on the edge of Lake Mälaren, and its immediate proximity to Östra Kungsholmen’s Stenstaden district, contribute to its popularity for both businesses and residents. The property Glädjen 12 has recently been renovated and modernised, and new tenants have started moving in.
Fabege is one of the largest commercial property owners in central Stockholm and by far the largest in Solna Business Park.
