AcadeMedia creates a new upper secondary school campus in Fabege’s block near Odenplan
In August 2027, Campus Odenplan will open in Fabege’s Mimer 5 block in central Stockholm. The new campus will provide a modern learning environment for more than 2,000 students attending three upper secondary schools. The lease, signed in 2025, covers approximately 12,000 sq m and has a term of at least 15 years.
The Mimer 5 block at Vanadisvägen 9 was built between 1958 and 1961 and has a long history as an educational setting. It was originally home to Stockholm University, and the building has subsequently housed both upper secondary and compulsory school activities. In August 2027, this educational tradition will continue when AcadeMedia opens Campus Odenplan for Sjölins Gymnasium Vasastan, NTI Handelsgymnasiet and Drottning Blankas Gymnasieskola Odenplan. The campus’s shared facilities will include its own sports hall, auditorium, school library, canteen with an on-site kitchen, campus café and courtyard.
The transformation of the properties began after the lease was signed in autumn 2025. The two existing buildings on Hagagatan and Vanadisvägen are being adapted for AcadeMedia’s operations and connected by a new link building, which will be completed in 2027. AcadeMedia is already operating in the part of the school completed in autumn 2025, while the remaining premises will be brought into use when occupancy begins in 2027.
The work is being carried out with a focus on minimising the carbon footprint, including through circular material flows, reuse and measures to ensure strong energy performance.
– Together with Fabege, we are creating a modern, integrated school campus for students from across the region. Building for the future of education is not just about classrooms; it is about creating a complete environment where students can thrive, develop and take pride in their school, says Jimmy Kjellström, Head of AcadeMedia’s upper secondary schools.
– We are proud to have been entrusted with the role of AcadeMedia’s partner in the development of Campus Odenplan. By bringing together three schools and creating shared spaces for teaching, dining, sport and meetings, students and staff will benefit from a modern, integrated learning environment in central Stockholm, says Oskar Sköld, Market Area Manager at Fabege.
