Describe Flemingsberg in three words.

“Forward-looking, full of potential and evolving. What makes Flemingsberg so exciting is that it’s still at the beginning of its journey. It is already home to one of Sweden’s largest university campuses, with universities, colleges and thousands of students, while excellent transport links make it easy to reach central Stockholm. Everything is in place for Flemingsberg to continue growing with more workplaces and new homes.”

What are you most proud of?

“That Alfa Laval chose Flemingsberg and Fabege. Together, we created a fantastic building that reflects the high standards we want to set as the area develops. I’m also very proud that the Royal Swedish Opera and the Royal Dramatic Theatre have chosen to establish their scenery workshops here. Both investments show that we can create workplaces for organisations with very different needs – not just traditional office environments.”

What are you most looking forward to after the summer?

“Seeing the new pedestrian lane outside Billmans come to life. We’ve created a welcoming space with greenery, seating and pétanque courts where people can meet and spend time together. Later this year, Kultopia will also move in, making the area even more vibrant.”

Therese’s top summer tips in Flemingsberg

Activity: Walk up to Visättra Sports Centre, where you’ll find running trails, an outdoor gym, disc golf and plenty of other outdoor activities.
Lunch: Billmans, with its sunny outdoor terrace, or K-märkt, which always serves fantastic spreads and delicious side dishes. If you’re after something refreshing, Espresso House at Flemingsberg Station is another great option.
Hidden gem: Take a walk through Flemingsberg Forest Nature Reserve and up to Visättra Hill Fort. The short climb is rewarded with stunning views across the nature reserve. While you’re there, continue through the painted cattle tunnel to the allotment gardens – an unexpected but charming part of the area.

And if you had a completely free summer’s day – what would it look like?

“I’d take the opportunity to explore even more of the area. A leisurely walk to Lake Orlången followed by a swim on a warm summer’s day is hard to beat.”
