Trikåfabriken 8

Trikåfabriken 8 is a building with a distinctly industrial character, featuring a large courtyard brimming with potential. This nearly 100-year-old property is being given a new lease of life. For the newly constructed parts of the building, we will use timber for all load-bearing structures, contributing to reduced environmental impact.

A Nearly 100-Year-Old Building Gets a New Lease of Life

The original part of the building was constructed in 1931 by AB Stille Werner as a factory for surgical instruments, based on designs by Erik Hahn. Even before its completion, the property was purchased by Elektriska AB Helios to serve as a factory for the production of electric stoves and other household appliances.

Sustainability at the Forefront

Renovation generally reduces carbon emissions by 70 percent compared to new construction. In the revamped Trikåfabriken 8, much of the original structure will be preserved, with approximately 40 percent of the space being renovated—resulting in a carbon saving of around 28 percent compared to new construction for the entire building. For the newly built sections, timber will be used for all load-bearing structures, further reducing the environmental footprint.
